What will Strictly Come Dancing normalise next?

A Jamaican grandmother I know is sitting in London watching two men dancing as a couple on national UK television. Strictly Come Dancing, Strictly for short, is a UK TV show watched by millions as different couples compete to be crowned champion.

If I ask her what would have been said years ago about two men dancing on national TV, she would agree that it was an unthinkable idea then. Now, in the name of family ‘entertainment’, all sorts of practices and relationships can be normalised. She probably would have refused to watch it years ago and might have said it "goes against God's way." She's a Christian.

The secular liberal West has no permanent boundaries, values or definition of right and wrong. It’s all relative. In the name of ‘moving with the times’ what is illegal or abhorrent today is normalised and promoted tomorrow. Adultery became normalised years ago so now, no one really bats an eyelid when a man cheats on his wife or vice versa.

Whatever some desire, they legalise it. Tomorrow, what will be legalised in the secular West? Why should any society want to follow the secular West?

“𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉?” [Sūrat al-Qasas 28:50]

Alhamdulillah for Islam and the Creator’s clear guidance defining right and wrong. Alhamdulillah for a shariah from the All-Knowing Creator. May we continue to be those who are never ashamed of following Allah's guidance.
