Formula 1 in Jeddah & Abu Dhabi. Wasted millions & LGBT agenda
It’s been impossible to escape the formula 1 hype recently. The race in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the final in Abu Dhabi have been in the news every day. Constant discussion and analysis about whether Verstappen or Hamilton will win the championship.
Growing up, I loved formula 1. I remember the Ayrton Senna versus Nigel Mansel rivalry. In those days, there were no formula 1 races in Saudi Arabia or Abu Dhabi.
Now, I hate the global formula 1 circus when it travels through the Muslim world. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent by governments wanting to host races in their countries. Millions are spent so people can come from the West to race cars in the desert. And that is called ‘progress’. While people starve? While people calling for Islam are jailed? While the youth are diverted from Islamic values to secular values? It isn’t progress. It is slavish emulation of the West.
“What is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.” [Al-Ankabut 29:64]
The Muslim world faces huge problems. People are starving in Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria and elsewhere. People don’t know where the next meal is coming from, yet the Western puppet rulers in the Gulf refuse to send 100s of millions of dollars to feed them. The rulers in Qatar have hired David Beckham as an ambassador for next year’s Qatar world cup and are reportedly paying him over $100 million dollars. That is obscene. That is a crime against this ummah.
At the Jeddah grand prix, Lewis Hamilton chose to make a stand for the LGBT community by wearing his LGBT rainbow helmet. So western teams don't just go to Muslim lands to race cars, they also go and push their secular Western values.
I hate the fact the Muslim world has become a playground for global sporting tournaments. Nearly every week, there is some global tournament. T20 cricket world cup in Abu Dhabi and Oman. Horse racing, golf, tennis, formula 1, football world cup to name a few. Those rulers are happy to waste the ummah’s money on these. They also use them to divert people from real issues and their oppressive rule. There is even a now a term for that - ‘Sports washing’.
These rulers divert the masses from life’s real task of building an Islamic society where Allah (swt) alone is worshipped and His shariah is implemented and conveyed to the rest of the world as happened under the Islamic Khilafah state - for centuries.
May Allah (swt) destroy the thrones of these puppet rulers. May Allah (swt) enable us to work for the return of the Islamic Khilafah state. May Allah (swt) bless us with a sincere ruler, a Khalifah who rules by the Qur’an and Sunnah , utilizes our resources and energies to address the issues facing our ummah so our society again becomes a model for conveying the beauty and justice of the Islamic civilization to mankind.
